The beginner’s guide to creating & selling digital art NFTs

Looking to sell your work on the Cardano blockchain? Many creators struggle with navigating the first steps! Crypto wallets? Cardano? We’ve all been there. We’ve outlined exactly how to turn your art into CNFTs and list them for sale on our platform.

Cardano-blockchain Non-Fungible Tokens (CNFTs) – Cardano-blockchain Non-Fungible Tokens (CNFTs) are unique, digital items that have managed Cardano blockchachain ownership. Examples of CNFT’s could be digital artwork, collectibles, audio clips and segments, virtual reality (VR) items, domain names for crypto, ownership records for assets, and more.

Cardano – Cardano is a blockchain, and ADA is the currency used to make transactions on the Cardano blockchain.

Gas fees – Think of gas fees as transaction costs for using the Cardano-blockchain. Our platform has no say in setting gas fees – they are determined by the blockchain and are a result of supply/demand across the network Cardano network.

Crypto wallet – A crypto wallet is an application, software, or hardware device that allows individuals to store and retrieve digital assets.

Wallet address – Your wallet address is unique address that is used for sending, storing, and receiving crypto, NFT’s, or CNFT’s to your crypto wallet.

Secret recovery phrase – A secret recovery phrase is used to recover your crypto should you ever forget your password or lose access to your wallet. It is typically a list of words in a particular order. It is important to secure your recovery phrase somewhere safe. Some people back it up in multiple locations. It is recommended that your store your secret phrase somewhere physical and not accessible on a cloud network. It is also recommended to never share this phrase with anyone.

Collection – A collection is a body of work and can pertain to a store, series, or gallery.

User safety

Cryptocurrencies and blockchains offer a tone of benefits! It’s important to do your research on how to safely store funds, digital items before you dive in. The crypto and NFTs in your wallet are your sole responsibility. Never share your password or recovery phrase with anyone.

Set up a wallet

First up, you’ll need a wallet to store your ADA and CNFTs. We recommend using Google Chrome and installing the MetaMask wallet extension. Once you have a wallet installed, head back to our platform and sync them.

Create your collection

At this point, you should see your account page! It is empty right now, but you’re about to work on that! Click the ‘Create’ button at the top, then select ‘My Collections’. Follow the page prompts for creating your NFT! Enter your collection’s name, description, and upload an image. This is not your NFTs at this point – you are simply setting up your collection to display your work. Once your collection is set up, click ‘Add New Item’ to start creating.

Fine tune your collection

You can add things like social links, update the image, description, and name by clicking ‘Edit’. You can also fine tune a secondary sales fee of up to 10% (commissions). Once you are happy with your edits select the ‘Submit Changes’ button. 

Create your NFT

To create your NFT, select the ‘Add New Item’ button. You will then see an option to upload your metadata (image/video/audio/file) and set a name for the NFT. You are also able to add an external link (such as a high-resolution file or a personal website) as well as enter a description!

List & sell your NFT

To list your NFTs for sale, go to your asset page for one of your items and click the ‘Sell’ button. Select either a fixed-price listing or auction listing for your NFT and set your price. When you have reviewed your pricing and are satisfied, click the ‘Post Your Listing’ and follow the instructions in your wallet.
